Sonia Chung, O.D., M.Ed., VFL
Dr. Sonia Chung received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. She concurrently received her Masters of Education in Visual Function and Learning from Pacific University School of Education.
Dr. Chung is also a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, where she received four years of outstanding achievement in school of Optometry.
Dr. Chung also received America's Top Optometrist Award in 2002-2003 given by Consumers Research Council Of America.
Dr. Chung demonstrates extreme personal and professional care of her patients and fellow colleagues. VSP also awarded her a "Certificate of Excellence" for her commitment to high quality care and services.
Gary Baron, O.D.
Dr. Gary Baron is an optometrist who has been practicing all over the valley for over 13 years. Dr. Baron grew up in Phoenix and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a minor in Chemistry and major in Microbiology and Immunology. He received his doctor of optometry degree in 2003 from Southern California College of Optometry where he finished in the top 2% of national boards rankings in his class.
He completed internships at Bemidji, Minnesota, South Central Los Angeles, and Orange County, California. During these internships, he acquired proficiency in pediatric optometry, low vision optometry for the visually impaired, ocular diseases, and general family practice optometry.
Dr. Baron is able to perform comprehensive exams in Spanish. He initially worked at Nationwide Vision which is the largest vision care provider in Arizona. In his second year at that company, he received the Medical Masters Award for excellence in treating medical eye conditions.
He brings great enthusiasm and knowledge to the practice. He believes that it is important to take time with each patient and make sure that their concerns are answered. He feels that it is important to treat each patient as if they were part of his own family.
