Meet the Team
Dr. Robert J Clanton, O.D.
Optometrist | Sports Fan | Outdoor Enthusiast
Originally from Kansas, Dr. Clanton made his way to Arizona and never looked back—he’s now lived in the desert longer than he lived in the Midwest, and proudly calls Phoenix home. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry and has been caring for patients in private practice since 1994.
Dr. Clanton provides comprehensive eye care for both adults and children, specializing in contact lens fittings, diabetic eye exams, glaucoma care, red-eye emergencies, and pre- and post-operative cataract care. His patients know him for his calm, attentive nature and his genuine desire to help people see—and feel—their best.
When he’s not in the office, you’ll likely find him outdoors. Whether it’s hiking, running, biking, or golfing, Dr. Clanton believes exercise (especially in the Arizona sunshine) is the best medicine. He’s also a dedicated sports fan with serious loyalty to the Kansas Jayhawks, Yankees, Chiefs, Sundevils, Diamondbacks, Suns, and Cardinals.
